Only One

So, in getting back on track with Kate Motaung’s 5 Minute Friday exercise, the word for the week pertains to all of us — HELP!

Could it be the word we’ve used more this year than ever before? Maybe. But for each of us for the reason may be different depending on what we might be facing that day.

But, as a whole, as a nation, and one in distress, what other word rolls of our lips so frequently, “God HELP us!”

The Word of God says, “Where does my help come from, my help comes from the Lord.”

“My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth” Psalm 12 1-2.

It does not say our help comes from a party. It does not come from a Democratic Party. Nor does it say it comes from a Republican Party, no, it says my help comes from the Lord.

In this unrestful time in our nation, not that I want to get political, and I won’t but we are facing the most important election in our lifetime. But it’s really not about us. It’s about our children and our grandchildren. The results of this one election will affect generations and generations to come.

I envision the empty Churches. The walls that cry out for the songs of worship to be sung once again. Pews and chairs that were once warm with bodies where families gathered together now sit cold and empty. And idle keys on piano’s and keyboards just wait for anointed fingers to master them again.

Yes, I know some churches have returned and some are still having Church-on-line. God is calling us back to Him. To His heart for this nation. To His love for this country.

Yes, the very soul of America lies in the balance depending on what will happen on November 3rd and prayerfully not days after.

But we can’t just look at a man. We can’t look at their character and vote by that. We must first pray and ask the Lord to HELP us see what He desires to reveal to us and how to aid us in voting. God is our HELP in this time of trouble for our nation. We have separated ourselves from Him in so many ways in this nation and if we want to save the soul of this nation, We MUST CALL UPON THE LORD FOR HELP!

Thanks so much for stopping by. Remember we only have three weeks before we vote. Check out each of the platforms and pray, seek God and then vote accordingly.

God bless always and if you’d like to receive a fresh word as they’te penned, sign up below and you will receive a devotion straight in your mail…

Blessings,

  1. A year of devastation,
    a year of living hell.
A day to save the nation,
so vote, and do it well!
Some folk want to save the earth,
    and of oil to be rid;
    are fine, after unwanted birth
to up and kill the kid,
and that it where is all collides,
    Mother Nature versus Sacred Life,
and we will vote for who decides
where we will face the strife
when Right to Life and Eco clash,
and babies go out with the trash.

  2. I used this Psalm as well – was drawn to it by the prompt – this week. It is so comforting…to know where true help can be found. I need to remind myself often in these next weeks and months!

  3. I’ve been writing similarly. So true we can’t just look at a man. But the media has everyone all caught up in that to deter from the truth of the issues. Yes, WE MUST CALL UPON THE LORD FOR HELP!
